Above photos: scenery out the car windows
My sister by the water
This was not captured altogether well. It was too far away. But if I could I would have shown how mysterious those trees in the shadows looked, as though a party of Merry Men might be stealing through their distant depths.
Tons of willows grow on the banks. Good place to play with your shadow.
And I really love this one. I wanted to capture the color the branches are when they're about to burst into life.
This looks just like a story. It gave me the idea for the next couple of photos . . .
With that in mind, my imagination ran wild. I recalled the stories I'd read about King Arthur and his knights, and how when someone went questing, they would always find wierd things in the woods; unexplained and mysterious signs that something was afoot. So what happened here? Did a fairy leave her cloak behind? Did someone slumber here? Is the blanket/royal garment a gift for the questing knight who discovers it?
Nice to have fairy tales waiting for us behind the commonplace.
With my Bible, 'cause it looks cool.
A parting glimpse of the aspens.
